Buying small quantities can be expensive.
Buying in bulk can be cheaper — but who needs 20 litres of oil sitting in the cupboard?
That’s where The Pink Drop Co-op comes in.
I’m Kate from OHEO, and I’ve created The Pink Drop Co-op to bring small Australian businesses together so we can combine our buying power and access better bulk pricing — without each business having to commit to a huge order.
How it works
It’s pretty simple.
1. Tell me what you use
Register your interest below and let me know which oils you currently use and roughly how much you go through.
We’re initially looking at oils such as:
Castor oil
Jojoba oil
Argan oil
Other commonly used carrier oils
2. I combine the numbers
Once we have enough businesses interested, I’ll look at our combined requirements and approach suppliers for bulk pricing.
The more we can purchase together, the more buying power we have.
3. We place a group order
I’ll coordinate the order and work out the quantities and pricing for each participating business.
You only purchase the amount you need — you don’t need to take on a huge bulk order yourself.

What happens when I register?
Registering your interest doesn’t commit you to buying anything.
I’m currently working out how many businesses are interested, what oils we’re most commonly using and the quantities we could potentially purchase.
Once I have those numbers, I’ll come back to the group with the available options and pricing.
You can then decide whether it works for your business.

I started OHEO as a small Australian business, so I know firsthand that buying ingredients and packaging in small quantities can make things more expensive than you’d like.
I figured there must be plenty of other little businesses in the same boat.
So rather than all of us buying separately, why not see what happens when we buy together?
